About
Daily standups for professionals
After working in startups for decades, we knew there had to be a better way to get updates on what the team was doing – for us to share our progress and get help when we need it. With the only options being cumbersome, inflexible or built solely to provide constant status reports for your boss, we decided it was time to solve our own problem – so we built a better one!
What sets us apart from other asynchronous standup apps for Slack? For one, we make a concerted effort to reduce the friction and tedium of preparing standup answers. Rather than merely replicating the same process you might use for in-person standups, we aim to make it easier to recall what you’ve worked on recently and to see what’s coming up next, so you can provide the right amount of detail to keep in sync with your teammates.
What’s more, we understand that recurring team standups (or scrums/syncs if you prefer) are tools for team members to communicate and collaborate with each other. They aren’t meant for reporting your status to your boss and the project manager, and that’s why we don’t include superfluous reports or try to record your standup responses in your issue tracker. We believe that, if it doesn’t serve the ultimate goal for holding standups (keeping the team in sync), then it doesn’t belong in our app.
At the heart of everything we do is security. And we have the utmost respect for your privacy: we never store the contents of your Slack messages on our servers. Slack already has a copy of all your standup messages; we don’t want to increase the chances of your private communications leaking by keeping a copy ourselves.
Say “no more!” to 40 min standups, in person, on video calls or on Slack! Join us in making standups less of a headache – more efficient and more useful – with Standup for Me.
